Senior Band

The Senior Band meets to practice on Thursday evenings at 8:00 p.m.  Guelph Citadel has a long tradition of brass banding, and continues that tradition to the present day.  The Senior Band is comprised of dedicated individuals committed to the mission of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through music-making.  They are involved in active ministry on many fronts, including Sunday mornings at seniors' facilities in Guelph, Sunday meetings, summer park meetings, parades in Guelph and Cambridge, special events with other churches and organizations in Guelph and surrounding areas, plus the many Christmas activities.  For more information, please contact the office.

 

Y.P. Band Programs (Beginner's Band & Jr. Band)

The YP Bands meet to learn about music performance, theory and worship, as well as the ministry of music in the context of The Salvation Army.

Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. for ages 7 to 16 years.

 

Songsters

The Guelph Citadel Songsters is made up of Senior Soldiers who love praising God together in music and song.  This multi-generational group meets weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. from September to June.  The Songsters regularly sing in the Sunday morning worship service and within the community such as at the Christmas kettles in November and December.  The group is often involved in combined Songster groups within the Southern Ontario region.  For more information, please contact Karen Merritt or Stephanie Vincent.

 

Singing Company

Singing Company provides an opportunity for young people to learn vocal skills while having fun, and most of all, praising God through music.

Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. for ages 5 and up (September to June)

 

Salvation Sounds

Through the medium of music and drama, this group of ladies presents God's message of salvation.  Their areas of ministry include correctional and rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, seniors' centres and church settings.  For more information, please contact Brenda Campbell.

Marked By Love

Marked By Love is a Salvation Army music group featuring a female vocal trio.  All members are committed Christians and active Salvationists, and many of the members attend the Guelph Citadel Corps.  In 2007, the group released its first CD - "Things Thought Impossible" which raised funds for the Ethembeni Babies Home in Johannesburg, South Africa.  Their second CD - "A Light in the Dark", was released in 2011.  Marked By Love has participated in a range of events and church services across Southern Ontario.  To contact or learn more about Marked By Love, please visit the group's website at www.markedbylove.com.
