Emergency Disaster Service Team

alt

The Community & Family Services has an Emergency Disaster Service Team of over 24 volunteer church members who are trained in emergency response, the use of the Community Response Unit (CRU) or "soup van"), and food preparation.  They are ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The EDS Team works in partnership with the Guelph Fire Department by supporting the fire fighters and victims with refreshments.

The Salvation Army is a member of the 'Emergency Operations Control Group' that serves the City of Guelph and Wellington County in the event of a crisis or disaster.  Our responsibility is for serving refreshments and light meals on location and at evacuation sites.

We also assist the Guelph Police Services and the University of Guelph with emergency situations.  We also work in partnership with the Red Cross and Victim Services.
