At Guelph Citadel we believe that everyone should be connected to caring, biblical community and one of the best places for this type of community is within small groups - or Life Groups. Our Life Groups meet in a variety of places, discuss a variety of topics, and include a variety of people.

For more information about Life Groups, please contact our Discipleship Pastor at guelphsa.discipleship@salvationarmy.ca.

DISCIPLESHIP BANDS

A discipleship band is a group of three to five people who read together, pray together, and meet together to become the love of God for one another and the world. A discipleship band is not a traditional small group. It is not another Bible study group. It is not a classic accountability group. The primary curriculum is the lives of its participants, joined together in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

THE GOSPEL OF MARK

Women’s Bible Study | Tuesdays | 10:00am | Lounge A/B

STARTING SEPTEMBER 16

The Gospel of Mark chronicles Jesus’s journey from Galilee to Jerusalem. Along the way, the Messiah gathers a ragged band of disciples. As crowds grow and dwindle on the road to Jerusalem, only a few stick by the suffering savior on the road of discipleship.

In this 11-week study on the Gospel of Mark, author and speaker Francis Chan invites us to walk with him along the ancient ways of the Master. Tracing the steps of Jesus and the Twelve through Israel, Francis explores the major themes of the Gospel of Mark, and asks: Are we willing to take this journey to embrace discipleship?

Discipleship: The Study

Adult Bible Study | Thursdays | 6:45pm | Location TBD |

STARTING SEPTEMBER 11

In RVL Discipleship: The Study, join renowned teacher and Bible scholar Ray Vander Laan as he examines what it means to be a follower of Christ through the cultural, historical, and otherwise contextual lens of Scripture. The Study invites you to consider the following questions: What did it mean to be the disciple of a rabbi in Jesus’ day? How did someone become a disciple, and what were they meant to do? The Study focuses on the practical role of disciples in the first century, unpacking cultural and scriptural implications and applying them to our lives as modern-day followers of Jesus.

THE BOOK OF REVELATION

Adult Bible Study | Sundays | 9:30am | Lounge A/B

STARTING OCTOBER 5

Grab a cup of coffee and join us for an exploration of the Book of Revelation.

THE BOOK OF JOB

Adult Bible Study | Sundays | 7:00am | Robyn & Mark Sturge

STARTING SEPTEMBER 21

The world teaches us to revolve our actions, thoughts, and beliefs around ourselves. “It’s all about you!” we are encouraged to think. In the world’s philosophy, we become the author and hero of our story. But the Bible teaches a different view, one where another hero—the actual Author of life—takes center stage. In the book of Job, God asserts his preeminence and displays his power. Join Francis Chan in this series on Job as he explores the overriding truth that we exist not for ourselves but to glorify the God who deserves all worship and praise.
